MEASURING YOUR KITCHEN DOORS

Always measure the kitchen door, not the cabinet. The doors are often a slightly different size.

Measure the door from the back to avoid any patterning on the cabinet door.

Record your measurements in millimetres to give an accurate sizing for our replacement kitchen doors.

Measure your hinge holes from the top and bottom edges of your doors. For the top hinge hole measure down from the top of the door. For the bottom hinge hole measure up from the bottom of your door. Measure to the centre of the hinge hole.

Check your kitchen door measurements carefully. As the saying goes, measure twice, cut once!

HOW TO FIT YOUR REPLACEMENT KITCHEN DOORS

Remove the old kitchen doors by unscrewing or un-clipping the hinges. Unclip the bottom hinge first.

Once the door is removed, unscrew the arm of the hinge from the old doors.

Fit the arm of the hinge to the replacement kitchen door, making sure it sits at a right angle.

Hold the new kitchen door up to the cabinet, and attached the top hinge.

If the doors don’t quite sit level, you may be able to adjust your hinges.

HOW TO FIT YOUR KITCHEN DRAWER FRONTS

There are a number of different methods of attaching a replacement kitchen drawer front. The simplest way is to record how the old drawer came off, and to attached the new drawer front in the same manner.

HOW TO FIT YOUR KITCHEN HANDLES

When fitting kitchen handles, we strongly recommend a handle drilling jig. This device will line up the holes in the same place on each door. They can be purchased from a local DIY store for around £10.00.

Always drill from the front of the kitchen door.

Common mistakes

1) Forgetting to order all the replacement kitchen doors you need is the most common mistake people make. Making a plan of your kitchen, then double-checking that plan to make sure all your doors are on it, will help you avoid this. Our professional team are also on hand to help with this – simply send a picture of your kitchen to us in order for us to assist you.

2) Another common mistake people make is only measuring their kitchen doors once. As the old carpenters’ saying goes, “measure twice, cut once” – so measure your existing kitchen doors twice to ensure you’ve got it right.

3) Check the size guide (you’ll find this on our website on the product page of your chosen replacement kitchen door style) to see which standard sizes are available, as they are usually a little cheaper than made to measure doors. You may find a standard sized door is within 1-2mms of the size you need.

4) While replacing your kitchen doors, it’s a good idea to think about replacing hinges. Replacement hinges aren’t expensive, but they will ensure that your new kitchen doors last for as long as you need them to.

5) Although damage in transit is rare, you’ll need to check your order as soon as possible after it has been delivered. Remove all the protective packaging and make sure nothing is missing or damaged. In the unlikely event that an item has arrived damaged, you’ll need to contact us within two working days to report the problem. Send us a photo of the damage and we’ll arrange for the item(s) to be replaced. If you’ve ordered gloss finish kitchen doors or drawer fronts, there will be a clear plastic film over the surface of the items to protect them from marks and scratches. You’ll need to carefully remove the protective film to check the doors’ surfaces, but it’s a good idea to replace it until the new kitchen doors have been fitted.
