The average kitchen now exceeds £20,000. Yes, that’s £20,000 for a new kitchen that usually has the same layout as your own. By simply refacing your existing cabinetry with replacement kitchen doors, you not only save money, but endure less upheaval that a complete refit will entail.

How Do I Measure Replacement Kitchen Doors?

When measuring kitchen doors there are 2 key measurements to consider.

  • Height in Millimetres
  • Width in Millimetres

A key point to note when measuring the height and width of your kitchen doors is that they generally won’t be a round figure, e.g., 600mm wide. What is most common is that kitchen doors will be between 3mm and 5mm less in height and width of the cabinet they are hung on. This smaller dimension is important, to allow your kitchen doors to open and close with ease.

Our replacement kitchen doors have the flexibility to be made to measure by a degree of +/- 5mm, meaning that we can accommodate all manufacturer door sizes.

Can I Buy Non-Standard Sized Ikea / Howdens / B&Q Kitchen Doors?

We have over 120 standard sizes for replacement kitchen doors and drawers, each of which can be fitted to major brands such as Wickes, MFI, Howdens, and B&Q. If a specific size isn’t listed, our made to measure option will match your existing kitchen doors exactly.

Can I Purchase Replacement Kitchen Doors for Integrated Appliances?

Yes – these are simply replacement kitchen doors without any hinge holes. The appliance manufacturer should supply all the necessary screws and brackets to secure the new kitchen door to the fridge / washing machine / dishwasher / freezer / dryer.

How Do I Measure Hinge Hole Heights?

When measuring hinge holes for replacement kitchen doors, there are 4 key points to consider:

  • Distance to the centre of the top hinge hole from the top edge of the door.
  • Distance to the centre of the bottom hinge hole from the bottom edge of the door.
  • If the kitchen door is greater than 900mm in height, it is best practice to have a 3rd hinge in the middle of the door.
  • Which way the door is hung – left, right or top hung. This is extremely important when working with handleless kitchen doors, as they can only be hung one way.

The holes in the doors for hinges are a standard diameter of 35mm.

All measurements are taken to the centre of the hinge hole.

For bi-folding kitchen cabinet doors, we advise you see your hinge manufacturers specifications as the drilling for these are brand specific.

What Thickness are Kitchen Doors?

The thickness of each of our replacement kitchen doors is 18mm.

Are the Kitchen Door Colours the Same on Both Sides?

All of our replacement kitchen doors have a matched back. Unlike other companies who offer only white backs, all of ours are matched in every colour available. The finish, however, will be a tough durable satin throughout all ranges.

At What Size Does the Style / Detail Disappear?

Generally speaking, kitchen doors and drawers that are below 140mm will be plain with no style. However, some styles may vary, so feel free to contact us and we’ll ask the manufacturers.

When is a Kitchen Drawer a Pan Drawer?

Generally speaking, standard kitchen drawers are 60mm up to 282mm and pan drawers are 280mm to 400mm. Pan drawers may be listed under ‘Doors’ dependant on their size.
